If we talked about a small cafe, surrounding with friendly atmosphere, sweetening the air lightly with fragrance of flowers and old wooden-styled furniture, Casa Lapin x49 is one of a cafe to mention about. This little charming place attract customers from the 1st day of their business.
Casa Lapin x49 is owned by an architect-turned-barista named “Surapan Tanta.”, who spent about a year in Chiang Mai province to seriously search for perfect coffee lesson. In year 2012, he came back and established a very tiny cafe “Casa Lapin” in the middle of Thong Lor with a classic piston-driven espresso machine. The cafe rapidly becomes popular among hipsters. Recently a little-bit-more-space of Casa Lapin is newly opened nearby at Sukhumvit 49.
Casa Lapin x49 provides variety of coffee, both local and international single origins, and also the cafe’s special blend. If you are living slower life, they are also serving drip and French press coffee. The single-origins may be randomly selected everyday among famous selections such as Ethiopia Sidamo Guji, Kenya, Brazil and Indonesia. For the local selections, the cafe provides from several great origins in the northern part of Thailand such as Pha Hi, Fang, Chang Kien and Thep Sadej. You may pair your cup with concentrated delicious brownie, which we think it would be a good choice. Here is one of a few cafe in town that serves Ristretto and some coffee desserts such as Affogato and Espresso Con Pana.
The original Casa Lapin is located in the heart of Thong Lor Art Village, between soi 17 and 19. It opens every day from 11.00 till 19.00. The Casa Lapin x49 is located at almost the end of soi Song Pee Nong, opposite to Samitivej Hospital. You may look for “หลายรส” restaurant sign at the beginning of the Soi. The cafe provides no parking lot, but you can park at the S&P restaurant’s parking lot next to it, which will cost you 50 Baht per hour.
